Paranormal Tales
Tredegar Arms Ghosts

The Tredegar Arms, situated at the top of Morgan Street adjoining the Circle, has now been re-christened the 'Coach House' and is one of Tredegar's oldest pubs.Brian Chidgey and his wife, Melinda ran the Tredegar Arms from 1995 to 2000 and can tell many stories about strange and unexplained happenings on the premises, some of which are recounted below.
The Guest Room
Much activity was concentrated in one particular room which was used a guest room.
On one occasion, a guest staying in this room awoke at 3 a.m. with the sensation that someone was in bed with him. He was aware of the weight of another person and could see the outline of a body lying alongside.
On flinging back the bedclothes, however, no one could be seen.
The lights in this room would be sometimes turned off and on with no apparent cause and a workman who was once working there turned round to retrieve a screwdriver which he had placed behind him to discover it had disappeared. It was later found in another room in the building.
A medium, on visiting the premises, was immediately drawn to this room where she was aware of two presences, one of a young girl and another male presence.
The Coachman

Brian and his son were in the bar late one night when they both saw a figure materialise through what was a solid wall.
The figure appeared to be dressed in old coachman's attire.
Brian later discovered that there was once a doorway in the wall which had led directly to the old coachyard outside.
