Pretty neat all those memories. My gt grandfather came from Cwmfelinfach John Smith, he died at Bryn House. They also lived in Mill Street during the early part of the 1900's. He was married to Rachel Evans and they had sons Gwilym, Frederick Wilkinson and John Thomas.

Hi to all who remember me. Christmas not far away now !! Anyone got photos of Wattsville Reservoir or the tips with that old crane ? What are your thoughts about the new housing estate behind Nine Mile Point Road - I'm told the garage is going and more houses are to be built right up to the 'steps', and then from 'Mrs Chapman's' up to Brian Smart's. Clive B, what do you know !! Rumour has it that Wayne Cook could be coming back to make another fortune. Tony

I have lived in Pontllanfraith for most of my life but we are emigrating to Canada very soon (within the next 6 months). I enjoy this website and will continue to do so when I move to the other side of 'the pond'.

my Grandmother Agnes Welch, used to live at 9 Syndicate terrace cymfelin, and when I was a kid on holiday and staying with her I used to regularly play on the nine mile point slag heap and along the river valley, visited again recently and its nice to see it is still as beautifull as ever, even more of course with the removal of the heap.

Does anyone know how to get in touch with the artist displayed in
the "Valley Art" section of this website. The email listed no longer
works and I would love to buy the painting of the Coal Miner covered
in coal dust and all you can really see are his blue eyes. Any help
you can give me would be great. I use to live at 21 Bloomfield Rd
Blackwood Gwent.hi to those who may remember me :-)
