Looking to source people that frequented 'Ma's Cafe' (West End Cafe) in Blackwood, from 1960-mid 1970's. Especially if you knew 'Bugs' and was a biker.

Thank you for this website as it is of great interest as many of my relatives were puddlers. I also worked for a foundry in the buying department. Yours Liz Wade

My great grandmother was from Sir Howy, South Wales. Her name was Cecilia Elliott, she was born Dec 2, 1871. Her parents were Thomas Elliott and Sarah Elliott. I would be interested to know if there is anyone still in the area that is related to them and distantly to me. I have names of her brothers, if that would help. This is purely for genealogical research and personal interest. Sincerely, Rebecca Rubbo

I am a member of a new community group set up in Blackwood to restore and maintain the Jerusalem churchyard. The site has been closed for several years on Health and Safety grounds and we think it should be reopened for the community as it is part of local heritage. Anyone interested in helping us in any way is quite welcome to contact me.

Pretty neat all those memories. My gt grandfather came from Cwmfelinfach John Smith, he died at Bryn House. They also lived in Mill Street during the early part of the 1900's. He was married to Rachel Evans and they had sons Gwilym, Frederick Wilkinson and John Thomas. Barbara Smith

Hi to all who remember me. Christmas not far away now !! Anyone got photos of Wattsville Reservoir or the tips with that old crane ? What are your thoughts about the new housing estate behind Nine Mile Point Road - I'm told the garage is going and more houses are to be built right up to the 'steps', and then from 'Mrs Chapman's' up to Brian Smart's. Clive B, what do you know !! Rumour has it that Wayne Cook could be coming back to make another fortune. Tony

I have lived in Pontllanfraith for most of my life but we are emigrating to Canada very soon (within the next 6 months). I enjoy this website and will continue to do so when I move to the other side of 'the pond'.
