Further to my original post a few years back I just want to say we made it to Canada and currently live in Cambridge, Ontario. I'm still in touch with family and friends back home and I'm proud to be both Welsh and Canadian. I come from a great place and now live in another great place.

Hello I'm looking in to my family history and have recently done a flying visit to Sirhowy to try and find out where Four Rows was, as my Grandfather, Reginald Charles Tuck was born there in 1911. I just wanted to do a quick posting in case anyone remembers the Tuck's or can give me any more info on where I can find any old photo's of how four rows used to look. Many thanks for reading.

I was born at 7 alexandra road ynysddu, my grandparents house, Sidney and Catherine Thomas(now deceased) as were my mum Pearl Thomas and my sister Kim Gould. I haven't been back to Ynysddu since 1992, even then I could'nt believe how much it had changed. I started school at the ynysddu infant school in the sixties but moved away to singapore in 1965 as my dad Ken was in the R.A.F. My Godmother(aunty Zena) lives at number 8 alexandra road.

I am trying to complete the history of my wife's grandfather. He abandoned my wife's late mother in 1901 in Pontypridd and disappeared. We think that he went to Abertysswg wher he lived and worked until 1942 when, according to his death certificate, he died in Ty Bryn, Tredegar. I am trying to find out more about him and where the records for Ty Bryn, which you called St James' Hospital (demolished in 1979) are held. His death was reported to the Registrar by a W H G Pallin, Occupier, Ty Bryn. I believe that the records for Ty Bryn are held by the Gwent Records Office in Cwmbran but I am having difficulty in finding a holdings register. Do you know if the Records Office have an online catalogue? As you will no doubt realise, it is a little difficult for me to visit in person. My connections to Monmouthshire are with Pontypool, Bassaleg and Abersychan and very often passed through Tredegar on my way to Abersychan from the Rhondda. Regards and congratulations on an interesting website. Ray Lewis

I am trying to find my long lost aunt. Her maiden name was Avril Meakin she went to Cyfartha Castle Grammar school somewhere between 1968, 1969, or 1970. She use to live on Claire St in Merthyr Tydfil. If you have any info on her or anyone who may know her, please email me at mazdachick02@yahoo.com. My father and aunt have always thought about her and would love to talk with her.
